Sign up for a free account at app.fretstudio.app using your email or Google account. The free tier includes the first two weeks of theory lessons, the first four weeks of guitar lessons, storage for up to 3 songs, and access to basic tools and practice features.

If you have a beta access code, sign in first, then visit Account → Redeem a Code to apply it.

If you subscribed via fretstudio.app: Go to Account → Manage Subscription to open the customer portal. You can cancel, change plans, or update payment details there.

If you subscribed via the iOS app: Go to your device Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → FretStudio.

If you subscribed via the Android app: Open the Play Store → Account → Subscriptions → FretStudio.

Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Yes. Your subscription is tied to your FretStudio account, not to any single device or platform. Sign in on the web, iOS, or Android app with the same account and your features unlock everywhere.

First, check that your song header shows the ♪ BT ready badge — this confirms the backing track is loaded and ready to play.

If the badge doesn't appear, try reloading the song from your library. Some backing tracks need to be re-paired after major updates.

If audio playback fails on iPhone or iPad, check your device's silent switch and volume settings. Web browsers require a tap to start audio for the first time after page load.

On the web, FretStudio is installable as a Progressive Web App (PWA) — you'll see an "Add to Home Screen" prompt on supported browsers. Once installed, your library and recent songs work offline.

The native iOS and Android apps are designed to work offline by default. Songs and backing tracks are stored on your device and don't require an internet connection once loaded.

Account sign-in, library sync, and subscription verification do require an internet connection.

In the Studio, tap Load/Import to open the import panel. FretStudio accepts ChordPro, OnSong, plain text, XML, and PDF formats. You can also paste chord sheet text directly into the import field.

Once imported, the song is added to your library with structure, chords, and lyrics parsed automatically. You can then add a backing track, adjust the structure, and start practicing.

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email address. We'll send you a reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.

If you signed up using Google sign-in, you don't have a separate password — just tap "Sign in with Google" again.

In the app, go to Account → Send Feedback to share your thoughts directly. Include as much detail as you can — what you tried, what you expected, and what happened instead.

Yes. Your songs, recordings, and library content are private to your account. We don't sell your data or share it with third parties beyond what's required to provide the service (e.g., Firebase for authentication, Stripe for payments).

Yes. Email us at support@fretstudio.app from the address associated with your account and we'll permanently delete your account and all associated data within 7 days. If you have an active subscription, please cancel it before requesting deletion.
